FIFA World Cup Day 3 : Stars and Scores 16th June 2018

All event charts are calculated for BST (British Summer Time) using Astrogold for mobile. Blog originally posted 15th June 2018. Charts corrected from Regiomontantus to Placidus cusps 16th June 2018. 'The favourites' are the team with the best overall bookmaker's odds for that match only.

Group C : France v Australia

One of the  most emphatic testimonies in the tournament so far; the Moon (as the flow of events) applies to conjunct Venus.  Venus is Lady of the Ascendant and key significator of the bookie's favourites who are, at the time of writing, France.

Group C : Peru v Denmark

The antiscion of Fortuna (11 Sagittarius 46) just inside the 1st house bodes well for the favourites for this match (at the time of writing, the bookies favour Denmark) but the Moon applying to oppose Mars (Lord 4; victory for the underdogs) signifies the favourites won't get everything their own way. With two strong testimonies, both sides should be expected to score at least one goal apiece.

Group D : Argentina v Iceland

The Moon applies to oppose Mars, Lord of the Ascendant, favouring the bookie's choice (Argentina at the time of writing).  The debilitation of Mars' conjunction with the South Node is still present, but it will be surprising if this is able to override such an emphatic testimony from the Moon.

Group D : Croatia v Nigeria

If the bookie's forecast is accurate, Croatia are set to win Saturday's final match. The antiscion of Fortuna on the cusp of the ascendant (although the orb is slightly wider than usually allowed) seems to favour the favourites, but the Moon's final aspect (within the 5-6 degree orb usually significant for football event charts) opposes Mars, Lord 4 (victory for the underdogs).  Will the parity of testimonies result in a draw?  Or will the Moon's aspect trump the benefic rays of Fortuna?  An interesting match - certainly from an astrological viewpoint.
