Women's World Cup 22nd June 2019: Predictions

Following Friday's rest day, the Round of 16 debuts in Grenoble where group winners Germany face Nigeria, who were placed third in their group.  As favourites, Germany's significators are Mars (Lord 1) and the Sun (Lord 10).  Venus (Lady of the 7th) and Saturn (Lord 4) represent their opponents, Nigeria.

The Moon placed in the 4th house would be a strong testimony for Nigeria, except that she is  placed too far from the house cusp and in a different sign.  Nigeria also have to contend with a powerful affliction from the malefic South Node, which applies to a conjunction with retrograde Saturn (Lord 4).

For Germany, the Moon's immediate application to a trine with the Sun (Lord 10) is a substantial testimony in their favour, and could also augur an early goal.  The Moon's next relevant aspect is also the last (over the allowable 5 degrees for football matches); a square to the antiscion of Mars, Lord 1 should be sufficient to carry victory to the favourites.

Both Norway and Australia finished second place in their groups, having both won two matches and conceded one defeat apiece.

As might be expected with such well-matched sides, the bookmakers have found it tricky to pick a favourite but, at the time of writing, are awarding

Australia the advantage.  As favourites, they are represented by Jupiter (Lord 1) and Venus (Lady of the 10th).  Mercury (Lord 7) and Mars (Lord 4) are significators for their opponents, Norway.  There are very few testimonies to avail the favourites in this chart, whilst the Moon's applies to square the antiscion of Mercury (03 Gemini 49) and then immediately squares the antiscion of Mars (05 Gemini 51), two strong testimonies for their opponents.  Providing the pundits have been correct in their assessment of both teams, this points to a win for outsiders Norway.
